Read Across America
Read Across America is a popular project here in our service area. We use the national celebration as an opportunity to visit the children at the Holy Cross Nursery School in North Plainfield and to read their popular stories to them.
The Club meets in advance at the Holy Cross Church offices to enjoy a box lunch, then proceeds to the classrooms for reading sessions with the children, sometimes even one-on-one.
Most of the children have favorite books, many of which are Dr. Seuss story books. Despite having heard them time and again, the children are always attentive and anxious to hear as many as we have time to read.
