The Plainfield Music Store was founded in 1951 by Irving Rydberg. Over the years, Mr. Rydberg assembled a vast resource and archive of sheet music from many publishers which became a favorite source for Plainfield and regional musical connoisseurs.
Under Vicky Griswold's ownership, the Plainfield Music Store has an updated website, a computerized inventory, and offers on-line ordering!

In 1994 the store was purchased by Vicky Griswold, a classically trained pianist whose professional career has taken her to various parts of the United States, Brazil and Europe. In addition to her performing career, she has taught piano for 30 years.Since taking on the management of the store, Vicky has updated the business operation to include mail order for customers all over the country, while still maintaining the old-fashioned browsing atmosphere and personalized service. The photo above shows just a portion of the shelved sheet music available for purchase. Assisting her are Barbara, a former librarian and teacher, and David, a classically trained horn player and piano teacher.
