Who We Are
Rotary Plainfield-North Plainfield, Inc. is the non-profit arm of the Rotary Club of the Plainfields. We formed our corporation in 2007 so that we may provide service to our communities of North Plainfield, Plainfield and South Plainfield through charitable giving, including financial support for graduating high school seniors who are going on to accredited, post-secondary colleges or universities. The growing need for increased financial support that is facing high school seniors as they plan for college has formed the basis for this non-profit corporation. What We Do
The activities of Rotary Plainfield-North Plainfield, Inc. (our tax exempt, non-profit corporation) include fundraising and awarding scholarships to graduating seniors of our local high schools, thereby recognizing excellence in education, leadership, and community service. The corporation received its Exemption under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
One of the scholarships that is awarded through our Foundation is the Adele DeLeeuw Fund Scholarship. You can read more about this important scholarship on this website at http://www.rotarypnp.org/cs-adele-deleeuw-scholarship.php.
The trustees of the corporation are volunteers, with years of experience in both the public and private sectors. One trustee is a retired municipal administrator with 33 years of service; another is a local bank branch manager; a third is a civil engineer and municipal administrator; the fourth is a retired management professional in the service field; and the fifth is a professional musician and the owner of a sheet music store. All five trustees are current or former members of the Rotary Club of the Plainfields. They are all dedicated to providing volunteer service to the communities and their residents, and are known within the communities. They draw from their knowledge of the communities and their recognition within the communities to encourage others to volunteer their services to the programs of the corporation.
The Board of Directors of Rotary Plainfield-North Plainfield, Inc. meets quarterly at the offices of one of its board members or at the regular meeting place of the Club. This schedule facilitates planning and execution of our fundraising activities and our scholarship selection and award activities.
By supporting and encouraging students to seek education beyond the walls of their local high schools, our Fundraising Program and our Scholarship Program further the tax exempt purposes of the corporation by advancing and enriching the educational programs of the local public schools and furthering the educational opportunities available to our youth.
Thank you for supporting your local Rotary Club.
